I have had Acne for atleast 10 tearful years and I'm now 23. Everyone is different, but heres my story. I tried all OTC washes with little help. Then tried the internal Antibiotics (erythomycin, tricyclene) and then the topicals (Differin, Retin-A). With little help from them I went on Accutane for 5 months. I was MISERABLE, but it did improve my acne by 75%. Now I am 23 and recently had a relapse because I went off my BC pills. Went back to the Dermatologist and I am now using Duac and very happy with it. It has really improved my complexion and I feel that I can manage the dryness fairly well.How do you treat acne?
Everyones face is different! Some products will work great on one person and make another person worse!





I've used many products such as murad, proactive, neutrogena with no positive or drastic results. I now use a product called Grandpas acne thylox treatment which is working well for me BUT it may not work for you.





My advise is that you first try a product with benzoyl peroxide or get what I'm using lol. Hope this helps!
Try monthly facials. But finding that right facialist is difficult. Try looking for one that does extractions but doesn't go crazy with them and scar your face permanently. A good one will steam your face, do extractions, use a glycolic peel, and a good mask afterwards. Use a gentle scrub twice a week to remove dead skin cells, which can clog pores; use a toner with AHA; use a cleanser with glycolic properties; use masks that draw out sebum (clay based); do use a moisturizer that's oil-free.


I guess you already know about medications, but they're only temporary and the side effects suck. Skincare vitamins that contain anti-oxidants help, like Dr. Murad's.
