What is a safe way to treat acne during pregnancy or to better clean my skin? I've never had acne until now!

Thank you. What is a safe way to treat acne during pregnancy or to better clean my skin? I've never had acne until now!
I have also had trouble with acne during my pregnancy.

My OB recommended a prescription acne medication to help clear things up. It's called Clindamycin Phosphate 1% and it's a topical lotion, safe to use during pregnancy. So far, it has helped tremendously. I wash my face twice a day with Clean %26amp; Clear foaming face wash (has an ingredient to kill bacteria) and after drying I apply the lotion.

You may want to consider asking your doctor about trying a topical acne medication that is safe for pregnancy.

Also, here is some info. about acne during pregnancy that I found helpful:

MD formulations is some great stuff. Completely safe for pregnancy and will not only clear up your skin but help with other little issues too, like patchiness, dry spots etc...
I had same prob and i went to a chemist and the pharmacist gave me the products that i was able to use ...clerisil, oxy pen, tea tree soap...i tried them all and none worked...midwife said that it was unlikely they'd go during pregnancy due to harmones....once i gave birth i still had them so i went to docs and he prescribed me oxytetrecycline and these afre working wonders ... good luck
Wash twice day with an cleanser for acne prone skin.
