i have terrible spots on my face and my hole family has had acne at my age.I heard tooth paste can get rid of some of it but it didnt work for me.is there anything else at home i could use? What stuff can i use from the kitchen at home to treat my acne?
Look, no one is perfect. Granted, genes make some people look like pepperoni pizzas whilst other look like they stepped off the cover of ';Vogue';, but its not your fault you have pimples. Always remember your true friends don't care what you look like, and that inner beauty is more important, whether your a girl or guy. There's a site for young girls; www.freewebs .com/reelbeauty11 , but it has great tips on there that can work for anyone.
Check your habits. Do you prop up your chin with your hands? Thats asking for chin zits. Clean your specs often so you won't get pimples on the bridge of your nose.
Don't pop them! If you want them to go away, make a paste of baking soda and water and dab it on the zit, then go to sleep. In the morning it should be dried up. Also, toothpaste or honey works for some people, but its not recommended.
Every other day, use normal table salt and water to wash your face. The salt will scratch the dead skin off your face, and help prevent pimples. Don't scrub too hard, or it'll hurt.
My brother gets zits all the time, so I'm somewhat of an 'expert', lol! Let me know if it works and if you need more help! What stuff can i use from the kitchen at home to treat my acne?
A dermatologist got me to use ten parts salt to one part calamine. I had to get it made up at the chemist ( cause it needed to be transfused together). Painted my face with the stuff before bed each night. Worked wonders !
I refused to take roactane.... figured if it could harm unborn babies in women , i wasn't taking it. Asked the doctor what Nana would have used and that's what he came up with.
sugar and water in a paste form put it on your face. Acne is bactieria and sugar naturally kill bacteria. Do it for like three days you may get more acne the first two days because it is pulling up the impurities in your skin. but then the ones you have will dry up and come out
This is what I suggest:
Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. These two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.
Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. Some people use this as a mask but DON鈥楾 EVER DO THIS! It can change your skin tone and make your face discolored. But this is not recommended to everyone because it can make it worse.
Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Clearasil, Neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start if you want a cleanser. THey might not work for you, so try different products. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard when you wash your face, because it can irritate your skin.
Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one or two tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars. Zinc can be found in many types of fishes.
If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands are full of bacteria and oils. Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.
An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. Aloe vera helps acne scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.
Try adding cider vinegar to your diet. It helps cut grease. And it's good for you.
baking soda!
Baking soda. I know it sounds crazy but it really works. Try it now and thank me later.
water and bicarbonate of soda
Turmeric is an ingredient in products aimed @ acne-prone skin, for its antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties .
There's ongoing research as to its ability to help alzheimer patients as well.
Garlic also has antiseptic properties.
Not from your kitchen, but also helpful is neem.
Hope this helps, and that you will do your own research :)
All said, if nothing helps, you may need a course of antibiotics or tretinoin.
Consult your GP, then.
different things work on different peoples skin, you could try tea tree oil or lavender oil to calm the skin,
wash your face twice daily, keep your fringe and hair off your face as much as possible. also sleep with a towel wrapped around your pillow; to absorb any oils or grease from your face.
I liked the St ives apricot its very natural, smells good and gives a deep clean, if your not familiar with an expholiator be aware that some dont find it a pleasent experience(it doesnt hurt)
(you can make a similar mixture at home with oatmeal...
1 Cup Rose Petals
1 Cup Lavender Flowers
1 Cup Whole Oatmeal
1/2 Cup Chopped Almonds
%26amp;
Coffee Grinder, Food Processor or Blender
1. Grind together all the ingredients until the texture is quite fine. Store in an air tight container.
2. To use the scrub, rub a handful gently onto damp skin in small, circular motions. Allow it to dry on the skin for a minute or so, then rinse off.)
for me different products work at different times, i find witch hazel has generally been the best http://www.witchskincare.com/products.as鈥?/a> i use the foaming wash three times a day and the expholiating gel wash about three times a week (using it too often will make your skin more greay and prone to spots) and the witch stick is perfect for quick treatments to calm blemishes, i like to use this before i go to bed and leave it on over night.
as for scars, i dont get any deep scaring with witch! but i do like to use http://www.boots.com/shop/product_detail鈥?/a> no7 from boots, if you buy it at the right time you can save a lot of money (they have 3 for 2 atm!) and that covers any light scars and blemishes and it doesnt effect my skin, even if i forget to take it off at night!
i find the best was to prevent scars is to just avoid temptation to pop or touch the pimples, if you are tempted, try washing your face. i find it helps stop the urge! if you really feel that you have to, take a shower and let the steam open your pores, that should make it easier to pop and reduce scarring. if you have any aloe vera or tea tree oil this will also help.
*if a product burns your face STOP USING IT IMMEDIATLY!!!!
*TOOTHEPASTE does NOT work, it only burns and dries out the skin* it will just leave a red sore on your skin, making it more noticable! and leave scars
concealor will cover it but i always thinks that it makes spots more noticable so try not to use too much! also be aware that this could irritate the spot more!!!
good luck

you wont be able to treat acne at home. To kill bacteria which is in acne you will have to buy ointment containing benzoyl peroxide.

How can I treat moderate acne with over the counter products?
I'm nineteen years old and I'm going through a really tough acne time. I never had a problem with it when I was younger but now I just can't get passed it. It's moderate. It's mostly on the right side of my face.
I started using Neutrogena Acne Stress Control with Salicylic Acid. I used it for about 2 weeks and it didn't work, if anything it made me break out more.
So today, I went out to the drugstore and bought Oxy Maximum Strength Acne Wash with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide. Makes sense since Benzoyl dries up current acne and kills the bacteria. The thing that I'm worried about is if it will dry out my skin, and I have a feeling it will. I know it says to reduce the usage of it if it does. I wash my face twice a day; once in the morning and then once at night, sometimes more if I'm wearing makeup. If it does irritate my skin should I just wash it once a day? Or fill in my morning wash with a less potent product, like Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask that has 3.5% Benzoyl? How can I treat moderate acne with over the counter products?

your on the right track. All three of my kids have relatively severe acne. You might want to consider a dermatologist. That was the only thing (and some heavy duty drugs) that would help one of my kids. You should use the Neut. for at least a month. Many times these meds will bring up the acne that's under your skin, so you break out worse, but there's nothing left under the skin. Use a good moisturizer cream (not lotion) at night to counteract dryness. Use both acne products if you can tolerate them. It does take a while to clear things up. Oh, and yes, if your skin gets too irritated, cut back on strengths or frequency of use.skin care cosmetics

How do you treat back acne?
Soon it will be homecoming and I am planing to wear a strapless dress, The only problem is that i have a big issue with some back acne! I have short hair so it wont cover it up and it is very embarrassing! Any suggestions for treating all of it in about 1 month? How do you treat back acne?
i went to the dermatologist about a year ago for acne on my face/back and she told me to buy this face wash called cetaphil, you can buy it at any store really. i use it everytime im in the shower on my face %26amp; back and i have no more acne :] hope this helps. How do you treat back acne?
i use this soap in the shower for another condition, but it says it works for body acne. its like a soap bar and it like $6 at the pharmacy by the face washes. its called panoxyl and you use it like a soap AFTER you wash, because its not actually a soap even tho it works like one. i think it will work like one. its actice ingredient is benzoyl peroxide.
Hmm... one month is pretty short but you could try a couple of things. For one, I had bad back acne and tons of blackheads on my nose so my Dr. prescribed me 100mg of minocycline HCL daily, which takes effect after about 14 days but it can take a bit longer to get rid of the breakouts that occur before it kicks in. I would try to get some sun, it dries the skin and definitely helps. Plus, your skin will tan which makes the acne less noticeable! good luck!
neutrogena complete acne therapy system. it does work if you follow the directions. you wont have completely clear skin (because you have acne in the first place), but it should look at least 60% better. guaranteed. and its only $20. good deal. but i repeat: follow the directions.
itll work anywhere you have acne. acne is acne is acne.

How can someone treat back acne?
I need a lotion or something to get read of back acne. If you know any please share. Thanks. How can someone treat back acne?
I used Proactiv. It works great for me. If you have oily skin like me make sure you also get there mask. If on the other end, you have dry skin use the lotion that comes with the kit to keep moisture in your skin and drink plenty of fluid.
ssHow can someone treat back acne?
When washing your back use a loofah, sponge or exfoliant to help remove any dead skin cells that may clog up pores. Use a gentle action and don鈥檛 be too harsh otherwise you will end up breaking the skin. You should probably change your shirt twice a day to avoid bacteria buildup.Try http://solutionsforpimples.blogspot.com/ for more info.

How do I treat dry, acne prone skin?
I have super dry skin that is acne prone. I also have combination skin ( the t-zone thing). I have tried every facial moisturizer/soap on the market. Is there anything anyone can recommend here?
Thanks in advance. How do I treat dry, acne prone skin?
I have very similar type of skin.
I use Proactive solutions skin care for more than 2 years and very pleased with results.
Even if you think it cost too much it last long.
Moisturizer is scentless and contains SPF 15. Daily Oil control will help you with oily areas on your face and also helps your make up to stay on during the day.
If during the day you see an access of oil on your skin because its hot or any other reason don't rub your face. Use a tissue or a toilet paper and pat it.
And the repairing lotion is gentle enough and don't dry your skin too much like other stuff I use to try, it contain moisturizers as well.
Also Proactive has a new Green tea moisturizer that i started to use over night. It dosn't contain SPF but it's the best stuff to replanish moisture during the night time. It doesn't clog pores and very light but does the trick.
Winter is very harsh time for people with dry and combination skin. So replenishing moisture is the key. :)
P.S. I had to add something about tan. Shellie mantioned that it helps her with acne.
Suntan helps our body to produce a vitamin D. This is the only one vitamin that our body can generate on its own. But I would not recommend you a tan as a cure for acne.
First of all, not every person will have the same result. If I try to tan my face my acne gets worse. Because ultraviolet irritates your skin, rases a temperature and stimulate natural oils production. So your T-zone will get oilier and it will be a good nursery for bacterias.
If we are talking about a good look than go with sunless tan.
Self-tanning products, or sunless tanning lotions, work by temporarily dying the top layer of the skin. The color slowly fades as the skin cells slough off, and usually disappear within a week unless the lotion has been reapplied.
That's a lot more healthful than a suntan, however, because while suntans also start fading after a few days, the harm done to the skin is permanent. Getting a suntan breaks down the DNA in skin cells, but using self-tanners causes no such damage. At worst, sunless tanning products present a minimal risk of irritant or allergic reactions.
Oil of Olay for sencitive skin did not work for me, it made my breakouts worse. But it might work for you. :)
Most of the bar soaps contain paraphine or wax. It does clog your pores and dry your skin so be careful with it. If you use bar soap to shower look at the side of your bathtub: hard soap particals usually create a build-up so this will eventually happen with your pores. So be carefull with it. :)
Cominfo absolutely right about water replanishment.
If you add 2-3 liters of water to you diet you will feel better - PROMISE. You will have to use the restroom often, BUT you will feel less bloated, and retain less water IF you add water to your diet. Men who are overweight should add up to galon of water a day. Sip throgh out the day for best result.
Different people have different percentages of their bodies made up of water.
Babies have the most, being born at about 78%. By one year of age,
that amound drops to about 65%. In adult men, about 60% of their bodies
are water. However, fat tissue does not have as much water as lean tissue.
In adult women, fat makes up more of the body than men, so they have about
55% of thier bodies made of water. Fat men also have less water (as a
percentage) than thin men.
So dehydration is the first culprite of dry skin. Drink tons of water. :)
I hope this will help. Good luckHow do I treat dry, acne prone skin?
I have the same problem. I use Irish spring soap. I've tried everything else to, and I've had the best results with this. I use Oil of olay complete for sensitive skin moisturizer. I also exfoliate every other day, to prevent flaky skin. be careful doing that while your broken out! Tanning is the absolute best acne cure for me. It's clears it up fast, it's preventative, and it just plain makes you look better. Your name is Chris? I don't know if you're male or female? well, anyways, if you wear makeup, try prescriptives from the dept store. Other products I've had some luck with was the pan-oxl bar found at drug stores, clean%26amp;clear in the purple bottle, acne-free (generic proactive), NOT proactive (made it worse) %26amp; oil of olay for sensitive skin. good luck.
Try to use shower filter, this may help. I know it helps cut down on my dry skin. The chlorine is a bleaching agent and it strips away the natural skin oil. Any cream and lotion we put on is just a after application. The thing is the more you wash the skin, the more skin natural oil will go away. It is a catch 22.
I suggest you read up on this here

Shower filter helped my dry skin, i am not sure about you dry skin but it is a start.
try using antibacterial or germicidal soap...pimples are caused by bacteria...oil is only a factor but i don't think it is the main reason...of course, dirt is also a main cause because obviously bacteria comes along with dirt...
Definitely moisturize the skin by applying moisturizing lotions or creams. It is good to apply these immediately after baths or showers, since the skin absorbs better when it is moist and when the pores are open.
To really treat dry skin acne, oral medications are commonly used. Several ointments are available to treat dry skin acne. You have to get them from a dermatologist.
Wear cotton clothing. It can be very soothing as synthetic materials trap sweat and aggravate the condition.
I highly recommend the Cetaphil庐 Moisturizers. They are formulated for dermatologists to treat dry, sensitive or compromised skin. Many dermatologists like this product.

Should I use anything else to treat my acne?
I am currently using Benzaclin and tetracycline for my acne. Should I still wash my face with a face wash. If so, should I use a mild face wash or something like Oxy? Any suggestions? Also, should I still use some kind of astringent? If so, any recommendations? What about moisturizer? My doctor really didn't specify on whether I should do these things or not?Should I use anything else to treat my acne?
Wash your face in the morning, and at night. I use Aveeno because it uses natural ingredients, not harmful chemicals. You can put mosturizer on your face but make sure that it does not clog your pores and does not make your skin oily.
DO NOT touch your face, you will make your acne worse.
That should do it. Hope this helped! =)Should I use anything else to treat my acne?
I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem dot com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.

My daughter %26amp; friends used all kinds of stuff - even Proactive -
What worked best for them was really simple:
Clearasil Cleansing Pads - used @ am %26amp; pm
Clearasil Ultra acne treatment creme (vanishing formula)Help me, i want to know if this is a good mix of products to treat acne?
I love the Apricot scrub. It really works well for me. The best thing to do is to find out what type of skin you have, such as, oily, dry, combination (oily and dry). Depending on your skin type, you may need to use something with more salicylic acid and less benzoyl peroxide or vice versa. I'm combination, so I can use the scrub so long as I use a good moisturizer afterwards. People often forget this critical information which really helps treat acne. You can google different skin types. This should give a summary which will help you determine your skin type. Hope this helps!
